Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is a disappointment. The food is bland and uninspired Indian cuisine, and the staff are impolite.
I have visited Peachy Keens (formerly known as Spice Buffet) several times over the years, but after my recent visit, I believe it may be my last. There is definitely room for improvement. The food is average and lacks variety, with the same dishes being offered time and time again. Even though I only visit every few months, the menu remains unchanged. This is not ideal for a "world buffet". The service is also lacking, with waitresses more focused on chatting than attending to customers. I had to seek out someone to order a drink and was then asked seconds later if we wanted more drinks, after being ignored for at least 30 minutes. Despite this, the restaurant is clean. It seems more suited as a bar than a dining establishment, as there are usually more people drinking at the bar than eating in the restaurant.
It is a must place to eat. It has a full and wide range of good food from around the world. It has a friendly environment excellent customer service and a over all good atmosphere. They also do party's and hold a dinner for a local disabled organization.
During a visit on a Monday night with my friend Andrew, we were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant quite busy. The staff were consistently attentive and welcoming, offering to show us around since it was our first visit. The starters consisted of a variety of fried foods and a decent salad bar. For the main course, I opted for chicken panang with egg fried rice and Goan fish curry with pilau rice and naan bread. Both dishes were flavorful and reasonably spicy. Andrew also enjoyed his paneer mhakani, noting the unexpected level of heat. The dessert selection included an ice cream maker with various toppings and mini desserts, as well as traditional options like gulab jamun and a chocolate fountain. Overall, Peachy Keens surpassed my expectations with its diverse food offerings. While the decor may be slightly worn, the bustling atmosphere and variety of dishes catered to different tastes were impressive. Although I may not intentionally seek out this restaurant, it would be a good choice for staying at the nearby hotel or organizing a meal for a large group with varying preferences.
This is an honest review and I was not asked by the owners to complete one like the previous reviewer. the eating layout and concept is the same as jimmy spices, but not as good. I was surprised that the entrance to the restaurant is through the connected pub. not what I expected. also the toilets are shared with the pub! yak. Anyway, the food palette is ok, and glooms are not so amazing. the service of waitresses was also ok. the children loved it here, but I honestly don't think it was great. £15 a head is quite expensive.
