Bidra med feedbackFirst time trying since it was Mackies....now I know why it was almost empty! As Mackies we often had a wait on Saturday mornings! First off it took forever for a waitress to acknowledge us, then she definitely seemed like she did NOT want to be there. We let that go and try to continue a nice breakfast out. An hour after arrival (in a dead restaurant) food comes out with very cold eggs, raw eggs, and weird looking eggs (best I can describe) and wrong orders. All meals were supposed to come with sausage gravy and biscuits. Mine instead had a hockey puck and cold bacon gravy, though no one mentioned the lack of sausage gravy being available. My son just ordered sausage gravy they never came back with ANY food for him after 10 min as we thought they were bringing it out. THEY NEVER TOLD ANYONE UNTIL ASKED THAT THEY WERE OUT OF BISCUITS SO MY SON WAS SERVED NO FOOD NOR EVEN TOLD THEY WERE OUT!!!!!! WHAT!!!!! They made NO offer to get him food nor even offer to give us something to replace the sausage gravy and biscuit that came with the meals, just said basically too bad and the price is too low to fix anything...did NOT even offer toast though an option listed on menu! The manager was very unprofessional and handled this situation in a way that just angered people. If your prices are so low you cannot refix an improperly cooked or cold egg then not sure your in the right business. I see I should have read reviews first before going, sadly. You should raise your prices to where you are more comfortable in taking care of your customers not lower your prices so cheap to get people in the door who then never come back. We went to Hardeez instead and had a great HOT breakfast within a few minutes. You have an opportunity to have a great place as Mackies did for a long time but I am sorry you need a complete overhaul from management down to food and atmosphere. I truly hope this review helps you understand how others are seeing your business and you can see how to improve so you can find success!
Please avoid a catastrophe by come here, STAY CLEAR!!! Take note MOST ALL POSITIVE reviews are from when the place was Mackies and they took over their google page instead of starting their own, HOW CONVENIENT! The manager totally handled a witnessed situation horribly. I came to see their review reponses and they are EVEN MORE unprofessional than what my family witnessed this morning. If a SENIOR VETERAN MALE waving his hand to get your attention is hitting you then i feel sorry for you! You did not offer them any replacement for YOUR LACK OF SAYING YOU ARE OUT OF THE ITEMS ORDERED. I WITNESSED YOU LEAVING A CHILD WITH NO MEAL NOT EVEN TELLING HIM YOU HAD NO FOOD FOR HIM JUST TOTALLY IGNORING HIM! But I am more appauled by your responses here and how unprofessional they make you look! I have to agree with MANY prior reviews about your poor place you are trying to call a restaurant! A manager or owner should NEVER make up lies on their customers online for others to view in any situation like I have witnessed today! You DID act very unprofessional and acted like they only wanted free food when they were IN FACT TRYING TO PAY and you threw their money back at them.
We've eaten here 3 times in the last 3 days. Prices are low and the food is plentiful and delicious. We absolutely loved the cheeseburgers, slaw, green bean casserole (Easter lunch special , turkey gravy, omelettes and breakfast fried potatoes. The staff is awesome too (really love Tabitha..she's so sweet! . I hope Grandpappy's is here to stay! Give this place your business!
Online Menu Prices are deceptive…I ordered Cheeseburger-Mayo lettuce and tomato. ..I ordered a baked potato as side item…I asked for cheese, butter sour cream on the side…I was given baked potato with butter already on it instead of on the side separately…I was charged $7 For the Cheese Burger vs $2.95 online menu price!!!
This was the worst food I have ever eaten. It took 25 minutes for them to prepare nothing but a order of onion rings that were overcooked, tasted like a dirty deep fryer, and was actually so putrid it left a smell in my head I cant get out. Currently in the store next-door standing by their bathroom ready to vomit. Also, could've swore something in my food was not edible, tasted like a mothball fell in the fryer and they decided it looked good enough, pulled it out and put it in my to-go box. Nothing in a box of onion rings should be as hard as a jawbreaker and taste like you fried a perfume bottle. If you want food poisoning, be my guest. Otherwise, do not eat here if you want a good meal or in addition, care about your health and well being.
