Restaurant des Hotels Kurhaus Bad Salzungen

This small lake in the middle of Bad Salzungen was my first destination after arrival. A tour with a length of just over a kilometre leads around the lake, past the medieval Schnepfenburg, the Haunscher Hof and the Kurhaus offers a beautiful view of the lake and the wells. The numerous benches are popular in beautiful weather with tired hikers, in love with couples or tourists enjoy the view. On the lake some rowing and pedal boats were offered by a rental. The lake has no access or drain, but is fed by rainfall and land sources. A few years ago there was a problem, the water level was continuously decreased. After a near sewer, the water level could be stabilized after several months. Since then, modern technology has been implemented, a sea level measurement is carried out every 15 minutes; If a critical level is reached, the competent persons are immediately alamated. For me really a nice spot earth I was walking here several times. For visitors of Bad Salzungen an indispensable must!

The Burgsee is located in the centre of Bad Salzungen, just a few meters from the market square, is of course as an earthfall lake. This also explains its depth of up to 25 meters. He has neither access nor drain and is fed for basic sources. On a half hour leisure walk you can turn it around very nice and enjoy at any time of year Its charming views of old villas, the spa house and the city centre. The approximately 1.15 km run straight, so that people with reduced mobility can also walk along the paved footpath. Benches invite you to stay. The numerous water wings seem to feel very comfortable on the strongly phosphorus-containing water and you can observe it numerously in the warm season. Group of over had a great dinner at restaurant. The dinner was buffet style with lots of meat, vegetables, potato (ball) cooked the German way. Started with Champagne, then red or and white wine during dinner and beers after.

This restaurant served me and my colleague with a friedly welcome, excellent food and fantastic service. A nice selection of single malt whiskies was also available. Went there by suggestion from client. Ten points to the client! And the restaurant, too.
