Double S Smokehouse - Augusta

Went for a late lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The owner was very nice and even donated to my son's tricky tray. My husband and I love to try different places and we will definitely be back. We had some drinks and appetizers and got dinner to go. The food was good even re-heated. I would come here again.

When me and my family went to the Double S Smokehouse, we did not know what to expect. What we ended up getting was some of the best BBQ we've had at some of the best prices. We consistently go with our family of 5 and always spend less then $160.00 . Every time we go we are treated as family even from the first time we walked in the door. Each waitress always asks about our day and how we are all doing, and tries to make a genuine connection to all of us. The atmosphere is extremely friendly and they are the only place since we've been in the U.S. to ask if my father is a Military Veteran, which was a surprise to us when we received a discount and made our family seem like more then just a number. but a truly cared for customer in the establishment. Thank you for providing not only some of the best service we've ever had in a restaurant, but some of the best food as well. Highly recommended to everyone.

I was at this restaurant last night when the owner approached Ms. Finks table. Firstly, as a 69 year old woman I was quite insulted by what the owner was wearing. When he got to the table, he started yelling at Ms. Fink about the pasta in front of 4 small children whose attention then went to the owner who was screaming. The little girl looked terrified as the argument progressed and started to eat the pasta out of fear. Was not just him speaking with them he was yelling for the whole restaurant to hear. And yes, he did say he was going to call the police. If the child didn’t like their food why not just reimburse them like any other owner of a restaurant would do? Or offer them something in replace. How dare an owner speak to someone in that tone especially with little children sitting there. Also, our food was HORRIBLE. My sandwich was supposed to be on Texas toast and was on 2 pieces of toasted white bread. The macaroni and cheese was worse than out of the box. The soda was awful. Overall it was a horrible horrible experience. Would never step food in there again. Do not recommend to ANYONE.

So my family and I went to see the Christmas lights at the Skylands stadium and little did we know we would run into this restaurant! Love the decor, very welcoming. Met the owner Eric and he was pleasant and funny. The food was great. I had the fish tacos and sliders. The #4 sauce was amazing! For desert had a serving of their apple roll they came in 5 triangle size. They were great! Loved everyone about the place.

Yes ! Another Sussex Miners game with a nice pre game lunch. We have heard about Double S smokehouse both in Warwick NY and now here at the stadium. What an enjoyable atmosphere nods to the local rural area that we live in. Nice to see some props to thw bombers, but it would have been nice to see something for the Mets fans, and dare I say the Brooklyn Dodgers. We ordered the onion rings and I had to try the wings. I also tried the sampler platter and the portion was a well balanced size. The food across the board was excellent, smoked to perfection, and seasoned to get to that spot that you want when have smoked meats. Two down sides, as a bleu cheese fan, this sauce was less than stellar avoid it next time. The wings stand on their own for dry smoked and there are other sauces available, if you want to dip. Second, and this is tough when you live in a rural area in summer, a bit of a fly problem up at the bar area.... nothing egregious but know that they are there in the summer. We live closer to the Warwick location and will be checking that spot out as well. Stay tuned. A nice experience at a great ball field and worth it to stop over the fall and winter as well.
