Le boeuf jardinier is located on the a1 autobahn in assevillers 122km north of paris. the chain-run restaurant serves steaks, salads and other French dishes of cheap style. the device radiates a bus stop atmosphere. eating is fast and from the autobahn. quality: under standard. we came on a Monday and almost all the tables were empty, no good sign. but we gave le boeuf jardinier an attempt. in the nineties the restaurant was often packed. we surprised to find the place now empty. we quickly discovered why: eating is impressive and not delicious. service is sufficient and fast. we went for a classic: a filet de bœuf, sauce béarnaise with friten haricots verts and a tartare de bœuf with friten. the tartare de bœuf was average. the filet de bœuf was completely unbeatable. the fries were thick and not delicious. we stopped eating the whole filet de bœuf dish. as compensation, the waiters offered us a free desert. we recommend to avoid any le boeuf jardinier.

If you 're in a hurry and don 't feel like you want to leave the motorway to have decent food and drinks this is as good as it 's going to get (maybe expect for Port Lauragais in the south). Service is attentive, dishes...and drinks are served at the table except the starter buffet that is up to you. If you want to stay clear of the busses or the people who are just loud and unfriendly in the cafétaria L 'Arche not talking about the service, but the customers go here.

Having been a guest of the styles hotel behind for a few days we had tried the food at the restaurant . Limited menu but tasty and a friendly service . They also served a fantastic Belgium beer that went down well . Breakfast is...also nice with cheeses meats and fresh fruit salads and other things to choose from .

So, England has the Little Chef whilst French drivers have Boeuf Jardinier. They also have Edith Piaf whilst we have Elaine Page. Set between Calais and Paris and on the motorway this restaurant is for everyone. Principally steaks but also a salad bar and a...few other dishes. Choice of French cuts with average weight about 100g don't need more of you need to get back into the car. Nicely cooked and decent quality. Side dishes nothing much. Plus a small bin rouge to be civil. Two fillet steaks, pomme frite, a wine, Apple juice and salad verte was €50. Staff bilingual (just saying, I'm an expert French speaker missieur).
