Bidra med feedbackStopped here on our way back to Lisbon from the Algarve and it was a perfect pit stop. Great service!! We ordered the typical soup with spinach and clams, the clam rice and the pork ribs. Recommend to try if youre in the area.
This is a traditional tavern, frequented by local people but as tourists we were given a warm welcome. The waiter speaks very good English and is pleasant and enthusiastic. He translated the menu for us and all the dishes were there on other tables. I ate the biggest veal cutlet I have ever seen and the flavour and cooking were good. My other half had a whole pan of rice with clams, brought steaming to the table. We thought the price was good value for money. Do go and try it.
We arrived at 12:30 and the first to be seated but soon after, it was full. It is a typical and genuine decorated small restaurant where the owner is a perfect well humorous host. Menu is quite short but who needs more if taste is perfect? We had mushrooms as a starter and after, clamps rice and cod rice. A fresh white wine jug was a perfect match. Being Alcaçer do Sal just a few minutes from the motorway it is a small detour that is no doubt worthwhile.Price ? Excelent quality/price ratio.
Muito agradável. Boa comida e bom serviço!
Despite the delicious food, the restaurant is out of compliance with some consumer protection regulations. Outlandishly expensive couvert (14 € total! whose price is not posted anywhere. Indeed, the price of most items is nowhere posted; asked for the menu, the waiter pointed at the blackboard listing the specials and said that 's it . That said, the clam rice was tasty. The (6€! small mushroom dish that 's in the couvert is also quite delicious.
