Silberkugel - Zürich

Have tested their silverbeef menu. Fries are oily and so is the burger. cheaper cheese and cocktail sauce that drips from all sides of the burger. they meat a very simple frozen paddy. could not stop it. did not expect a gourmet burger, but my expectations have not yet been met. in the 70s this could have been acceptable, but today even mcdonalds beat them.

This place is immediately busy for lunch, but for most it is a fast eating. the atmosphere is like an old time meter, which is served with a curving counter and padded chair seating. my waitress was friendly and the food is served appropriately fast. I noticed a television on the wall, but it wasn't my visit. the menu selection includes salad, pasta, burger, breakfast, desserts, snacks hot/cold drinks. I ordered the silver beef menu (that is the burger, fries and a drink) for 19.90CHF (cheese 70) on the bottom of the bungalow is cole slaw, with bark meat, a special sauce and cheese pollinated. the cheese and the sauce ran from the side of the burger and on my plate. I was given only one serviette and for such a chaotic sandwich are certainly more serviettes obligatory. the burger in general was ok, but the real taste, according to my opinion, was covered by all the extra sauce on the bungalow. the pommes were ok. fyi: let me put the plate straight; real people from the south, eat no burger, huh and/or bbq with a knife and fork! the restaurant and the toilets were clean.

Always nice service, a very friendly boss and a menu that quickly makes me feel nostalgic in this retro ambience. The fine bircher muesli is still made according to the old recipe and the club sandwiches with clay, ham or egg are a must. Be sure to try the silver beefy. best place in town.

A thousand times better than McDonalds or other competitors.

There's a good reason why Silberkugel only has a few locations left compared to the past... Price points are relatively high compared to direct competition and to be honest, there's really nothing special about the place except the diner-like decor if that's your thing. Burgers are average at best and fries mediocre.
