Bidra med feedbackThis was the best meal I had in Corsica- and that's saying something! Everything was cooked to perfection. Generous helpings too. Beautiful setting by a stream. Friendly and helpful service.
We went there for dinner and to be fair we were informed that due to a larger table it could take a bit longer. Having said this it is still not acceptable to wait over 1,5 hrs for the starters. The large table came after ourselves but we had to wait until the large table had placed their orders. We had finished our bottle of wine and decided to leave the same moment the starters have been served. Unfortunately it took another hour till the main course was ready. Filet de boeuf with french fries (3x) and a pizza nothing which should take one hour. The food was so and so but definitely nothing to wait for so long. The place might be nice for a lunch on a hot day however check first how many people are already in the restaurant. Service and kitchen are overloaded when 5 tables are occupied. Menu is compact and has about 5 starters and main dishes.
The restaurant is situated beside a waterfall and a pool in a river. The buildings have been modernised and most of the seating is outdoors and in good shade. The menu is fairly short, The salad and pizza we ordered were freshly prepared. The salad was with warm goats cheese and was generous and delicious. The otherwise delicious pizza was slightly over-crisp at the edges. We had a choice of beers and very much enjoyed both the Corsican varieties we tried.
I was feeling the pressure of what 7 items to put into my salad from a large selection of possibilities. Feeling like a baby and unable to decide, I finally came up with the following list: artichokes, asparagus, beetroot, avocado, bocconcini cheese, and char-grilled eggplant. I asked that they put those choices on a bed of spinach and sprinkle it with aged balsamic vinegar. For an extra charge of $3, they added a few slices of grilled wagyu beef. The whole thing was tasty, but I felt as though I was being subjected to a forced diet just to accompany a friend who is a dedicated vegetarian.
Had read such good references so we had to go check it out. It was definitely worth the trip. The location is absolutely stunning along a small waterfall that runs straight through the property and beautiful view on the town of Zilia. Food was very good, would have tried everything on the menu if possible, and all local wines. As it was very quiet this evening we had the best service and attention of the hostess. Would sure recommend it to anyone!
