Bidra med feedbackThis is one of Sydney's worst yum cha. Keep in mind when it first opened it was possibly one best one around, leveraging on the excellence of Sky Phoenix in town. The key problem of this place is the quality of the prawns they use in their dumpling. After the spotted prawn outbreak they started using smaller cheaper imported prawn of terrible quality. Those are cheaper and taste horrible. The outbreak of this prawn disease is truely over but they have kept using these prawns to boost profits. To make matters worst the dumpling are totally overcooked and even my dog won't eat the shu mai I take home for him. I am not exaggerating and it makes me sad when good outlets go bad.
We visited for Yum Cha on Sunday morning. The trolleys came past thick and fast and we ordered in a similar fashion. All the food was excellent quality and the waitstaff were jovial and friendly encouraging us to try new things (taro bird nest thingy - yum!). Very busy and with staff who knew how to handle it. Great experience.
Generally a very acceptable and clean atmosphere - the food is of fair to good quality - staff generally happy to serve and push cart for sale - unfortunately did not have chance to eat the egg tarts - as they were not ready Generally I would say they are pricey but I guess what you pay is what you get
On our first visit to this restaurant, after waiting 40 mins for our entrees and yet to receive, we raised this with a waiter, who then investigated to be advised that our order was lost in the system and we were forgotten about. Our order was taken again, but no apology was given for their error. Food portions are large, however quality is not great for the price you pay. Service from staff was very poor.
Two families' first time in a while for yum cha: I'd been here recently as part of a supplier lunch, so recommended it to them. Got there at noon on a Saturday and there was no line up for a table, so that was great.Service was efficient and there were our usual favourites, with the notable exception of the egg tarts: we might have seen that trolley once early on in the meal, but it had well & truly disappeared towards the end: despite asking various waiters and their promises of assistances, we never did see any, got tired of waiting, and left without them.Although we took the right turn off, we made the mistake of not continuing on into the shopping centre's car park, and couldn't get back around that way because of the various traffic rules. Found parking on the street relatively easily, though.
