The Old Bread Mill - York

This place is dangerous, you have to walk past a wall of desserts to get to the lunch at the back, but if you can resist, the lunch special is amazing, I almost don't want to tell anyone, because they may run out by the time I get there. Meat, pasta and vegetable, huge portion but it's Italian, would you expect anything less?

I have been around the corner from these guys for over 20 years. My go to for bread pastry and deli . The boys are always around like hawks making sure hit goes the way it should. The ladies @ the deli counter are the best. All hand cut properly packaged, the best, they even sneak (legally) in real"Italian products the Mortedella is over the top good. The very best pasta, killer stuff from Italy . Oops grab an espresso on the way out you will be back

I was out of bread one day and happen to be near the bakery. So I popped in and got a multi-grain loaf. I asked for it to be sliced. When I got home, I toast it in the toaster oven and it was nice and crunchy. I've been buying bread from there ever since.

You can buy your fresh pasta and sauce as well as lasagna. stuff tortellinis, triangle, manecottis. and everyone that works there is hoober nice! I believe it's a family own business. the prices are very reasonable.

I love stopping buy to get fresh bread or rolls and sometimes picking up cheese or pizza dough. The products are good (desserts are average) but service and checkout are very slow.
