Bidra med feedbackI typically do the drive-through due to time limits and preference for eating quietly at home. It's often a **** shoot whether you will get what you ordered. We specify the chicken well done as we normally find it undercooked. The staff in the restaurant have always been pleasant and service is reasonable but not particularly enthusiastic. Unfortunately the building is like an echo chamber and if you go for dinner and don't like screaming misbehaving children, this is not the place for you. It's not the restaurant's responsibility to control loud children, but more sound dampening would improve things. On a couple of occasions, the server (same person) seemed a bit scattered and got the orders wrong. Hence, I tend to drive through. Prices have gone up and portion sizes have gone down as the restaurant tries to offer more than their proven chicken offerings. It's no longer the excellent value that Swiss Chalet used to be.
Swiss Chalet chicken is always a winner. Our white meat chicken was delicious, as usual. Mark provided excellent service as our server. And, of course, the beer was fantastic too.
Today, my family and I visited Swiss Chalet for dinner. We arrived at 5:55pm and were seated right away. However, the waitress took a while to bring our drinks, and we waited 40 minutes for our meals. We all ordered the quarter chicken dinner, nothing out of the ordinary. The waitress appeared to be in a bad mood and this reflected in her service. To make matters worse, our food was incorrect as well.
Had not been here for a long time good to be back. Fast service by well trained staff. You get exactly what you expect hot, tasty good quality. No suprises.
Swiss Chalet has always represented a good value restaurant to me. Good service, good food at a decent price. I'm beginning to feel that isn't the case anymore. I took my daughter here the other night, and started to notice certain changes: everything is getting smaller and cheaper. For example, if you ordered a salad, the dressing would come on the side in a little dressing dish, and now it's just in a disposable clear SOLO container. Add to that the salad is maybe 2/3 the size it used to be, and the wedge of tomato was old and rubbery. I asked the very helpful server for another tomato, and she kindly brought me two more. One was fresh, but the other was old and rubbery like the original. After the meal, I asked the server if she felt there was cost-cutting going on, and she said all the servers had noticed that the quarter chickens are noticeably smaller than they used to be. I agreed with her. CARA, Swiss Chalet's parent company, is clearly trying to cheap out and raise prices. The problem here is that at Swiss Chalet, there's not a lot of fat to trim. It used to provide good value for what it was, and if they remove that value, why go there? You can't go to a restaurant only for the service.
