Valhalla - York

This restaurant is perfect for grabbing a drink or a bite to eat, whatever you're in the mood for! It's always my go-to spot whenever I'm in York. I adore the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the delicious food. It's a must-visit location just off Shambles.

Nice cosy n friendly... A good security lad keeping it this way.. top bar staff.. Themed the same as next door were we were stopping.. Brilliant cheers will be back but not christmas market time.

The bar appeared to be empty, but the security guard insisted that it was full inside. It seemed that they had some issue with allowing couples inside, as it was obvious that we were not welcome.

We decided to stop by for some drinks after hearing great things about this amazing place. We tried a couple of local gins and were fortunate to snag seats near the fireplace. The decor was incredible and we are eager to come back for a meal and enjoy the great music. Just a heads up, the lighting is dim so once your eyes adjust, just relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

It's like The Last Kingdom (Netflix meets The Warehouse (Preston . Cider was a strong 6.5/10 on taste, nothing crazy but not bad either. The IPA was a bit mid but I didn't care too much because the rock music in a viking themed watering hole made up for it. Fab decor, dudes! Your staff were lovely too :
