The Mulan - York

This review is simply about the food. The service was friendly and efficient. Having been many times to The Mulan as a post Cinema treat we were looking forward to the usual high standard. Unfortunately, the food e.g, salt and pepper ribs are largely bone and fat and the main course chicken dishes are now tough and tasteless. Have they forgotten how to 'velvet ' meat? The prices are also getting silly. Can no longer recommend and will not be returning unless the food improves.

My husband and I decided on a set meal (think it was the Deluxe one), it was absolutely delicious and so much food we took the rest away. We were going to add on soup but glad we didn’t. It’s such good value for the amount and quality of food. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. There is a two course meal at lunchtimes which looks incredible value, so we will try this. Can highly recommend and it was the best prawn toast I’ve ever had.

Our family of 7 went to the Mulan for my birthday treat. The food and service was excellent. Prawn toast and spring rolls were the stars of the starters. Salt n Pepper chicken, and Crispy Chicken in OK sauce were the main course stars. Tom and Denise provided excellent service.

We have used this restaurant for almost 30 years it was and still is the best Chinese restaurant in York We had the Sunday special lunch and it was delicious again. Thank you
