Taverna Kottani - Xanthi

We've been before. We drive two hours from Bulgaria to eat here. Kottani is now open in the week, Hurra. The food, as usual, was absolutely delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked, healthy, much of it. I can't praise them enough, it's worth the ride.

For all you drive out there. This is the place you need to visit. It is a jewel hidden in the mountains of northern Greece near Bulgarian borders. It is a challenge to reach them, but the journey itself and the destination is worth a lot of your time and effort. While you are there, check the second floor of the tavern where a very interesting museum of local lifestyle is presented. Needless to say that the local traditional cuisine is about amazing

This is probably the best local restaurant in the larger Greek north. Do not miss if you are here, you need to visit and sample traditional dishes and enjoy the beautiful views. The journey here is also a treat.

It is a cultural experience. Jemil and Moujen are worth a meeting as they present a unique pair of Pomoki travel. Her tavern is primarily a museum of a Pomaki house. Their cooking is a gastronomic experience, as everything is prepared by Moujen. Even the bread. Kotani is probably the best and most picturesque village of Pomaki.

A very authentic restaurant in the middle of no where. Which you can find variety of unique dishes different than a regular Greek tavern... Do not fool the location, it is always busy on the weekends despite the weather. Particularly the grilled meat is very delicious and the green salads. One of the must see and taste places..
