Bidra med feedbackWe stopped at The Wheatsheaf Inn as a van stopover on a trip back north from the South West. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant. Even though Badsey is about as far from the sea as you can get the fish was beautifully fresh and well cooked. As entrees some sautéed peppers and home made sausage rolls were provided. I had the Hake chips which I have to say was one the best fish and chips I have ever had !! My wife had the gnocchi which was equally excellent. On top of this the staff and locals in the pub were very friendly and welcoming. Peter Zella is the chef and he has created an excellent menu and restaurant and all at reasonable prices. We’ll be back on another trip.
We had planned to go for dinner on Saturday, but it was fully booked, so we went for Sunday lunch. Fantastic pub restaurant tucked away in this lovely village. We went for a drink in the bar on Saturday, which was full of locals and had lots of atmosphere. Sunday lunch was great! Attentive staff, locally sourced ingredients and we'll cooked and presented food.
Our two overnights stay was so enjoyable with a genial owner and chef, who produced sumptuous meals with excellent presentation and service. I wish we lived nearer.
Walters at the wheatsheaf. an un usual menu but the quality of the food was outstanding. This along with pleasant staff made our evening special.
Can I just say the food in this place deserves to be on a London menu 3 times the places . We visited as needed to attend a funeral so was just expecting pub food . Peter the chef was amazing . The cheese bread butter pudding I would move for . Second night the Cornish stone Bass fish was just the best. My hubby loved his Hake and chips with little touches of vinegar batter . If you are in the area give it a go . Plus Peter bakes the bread and everything is fresh !
