Bidra med feedbackOn a visit to see the wonderful Christmas trees we called at the cafe where the staff were working under pressure. I ordered soup which was served lukewarm in a cardboard cup with a plastic teaspoon which seemed to be at odds with the ecological message of the tree display. The soup came with sliced bread and no butter. A dismal experience.
Despite 6 staff and a queue of only 5 orders ahead of us, the purchase of 4 ice-cream took over 15 mins. They could improve matters if all the food orders were sent out after queuing. One lady served a customer drinks and pasties and the rest of us were all looking bemused, how long it took.
My friend and I were visiting to see the Christmas tree display which was amazing, we went into the cafe for a snack and hot drink, we chose a fruit scone each with jam, sad to say the scones were stale, hard and inedible we had to throw them away, the queue to be served was long otherwise we would have taken them back, so that’s why I’ve left a review.
A lovely spot in the Cathedral gardens on a lovely sunny day. Staff were helpful, careful , given Covid-19 requirements, and friendly. The food was lovely, and ethically sourced. We would visit again.
This lovely cafe in the cathedral cloisters has always provided a much needed snack and thirst quenching pot of tea! I hope it will re- open soon as I miss it greatly. The cakes are incredible and healthy snacks too!
