2021 visit Had a really nice falafel potato salad dish 2nd visit (2023) less proportion of vegan stuff. Feels no more vegan friendly than any other place. Latte was a bit meg Updated from previous review on 2022 01 14
It’s fair to say Wolverhampton city centre could have a few more options for vegans. It’s a good job therefore that Nutmeg is a small but mighty establishment when it comes to vegan food. Nutmeg has a carefully curated menu for veggies and vegans made up of fixed menu dishes and seasonal/specials. I tried the quorn shawarma wrap with salad, tahini and hummus and straight away with the first bite I could tell this place knew food! My partner had the vegan mince flatbread which was equally divine and we polished off the visit with a slice of chocolate cake. Other offerings include lasagne, falafel, burgers and black sesame seed chicken. If you sit in you get to enjoy the charming interior filled with a collection of art and there are a few window seats for you to people watch as you enjoy your food. It’s a small and charming venue. It’s also refreshing to see a place where the staff are truly very open to feedback the vegan version black sesame seed chicken dish didn’t exist until popular demand made it so and they were happy to create it! It really is a gem for Wolverhampton to be proud of, whether you’re vegan or not and if you try it for yourself you’ll see why it has such loyal customers.
Wow authentic falafel wrap delicious, really friendly owner and bonus you can sit by the window and people watch !!
The menu also offers lasagna, falafel, burgers, and a black sesame seed chicken dish, which is a hit thanks to customer demand. The charming interior is adorned with an array of artwork, and there are a few windows where you can sit and people-watch while enjoying your meal. Nutmeg is not only a cozy and inviting place, but it’s also refreshing to see staff who are genuinely open to feedback. The vegan version of the black sesame chicken was created in response to requests, and the team was enthusiastic about making it happen! Overall, Nutmeg is a gem for Wolverhampton that everyone can appreciate, whether you’re vegan or not. Once you experience it for yourself, you’ll understand why it has such a dedicated following.
