The Stables At Cantley - Wokingham

We went here on a Sunday afternoon for a roast. We went a few months ago and had an amazing meal and have been recommending to everyone since. This time was incredibly disappointing as the food was tasteless! It was also completely different to what we had before in terms of presentation and what was included. We both ordered beef after they’d sold out of pork. It wasn’t roast beef, it was a thick and chewy steak.. the starter was tiny and also disappointing as it just didn’t taste of anything. The staff were lovely and accommodating but the food really let this place down. Considering the price, we won’t be returning.

Lovely setting both inside and outside. Staff very good. Had to wait quite a while for main course after starter. Expected proper napkins not paper ones at this level of restaurant on a Saturday evening.

I booked following receiving an email promoting their new pizza oven so I thought it an ideal venue for my son’s birthday, however the pizza oven only operates until 5 so we had to eat of the menu. The main took almost an hour to be delivered we were told the chef was not feeling well! The setting is very nice on a Summers evening but the service and cost spoilt the evening.

We enjoyed our dinner there. The service was very attentive and the young guy who served us was very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend Cantley House
