The Bull At Barkham - Wokingham

The steak was absolutely delicious, the best I've ever had in a restaurant. My companions also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning soon.

I visited the recently reopened Bull at Barkham on Boxing Day afternoon. The building is beautiful and there was a friendly lady serving behind the bar, but we were disappointed with our experience. The smell of dirty cooking oil was off-putting. They did not have Diet Coke, Pepsi Max, or Diet Pepsi on tap, so I had to purchase an expensive glass bottle of Diet Coke. The women's restroom did not smell good and only one of the two cubicles had toilet paper. The men's restroom reportedly smelled very unpleasant. This was disappointing as we had hoped it would be a nice stop during a countryside walk. The menu online showed limited options for vegetarians, with only a vegan burger available in the Pub Classics section. The Thai curries had vegan options, but no details were provided. It seems that many places nowadays go from offering meat dishes to vegan options only. Personally, I prefer vegetarian pasta, gnocchi, or even a good macaroni and cheese dish over vegan substitutes like "burgers" or tofu.

After reading several positive reviews, I was not impressed with this restaurant. Although the service was friendly, the quality of the food and the prices were poor. I found it difficult to justify the prices for the meals we received. The presentation of the dishes could not make up for the fact that the kids' burger was overcooked and dry, the pork was very fatty and overcooked, and the chicken was also overcooked and dry. Overall, I left feeling very disappointed.

Another beautiful meal with friends. are they no longer in the bottle of prosecco? can I not take care of this new rule? sounds like a greedy owner rule. much profit is made on a bottle

A so amazing pub with really good, friendly and knowledgeable staff. eating was amazing and the perfect amount. the price was very reasonable. can't wait to come back. well made young!
