Bidra med feedbackAfter much consideration, I have decided to leave a review for this local restaurant. While I appreciate good eateries in the area, there are definitely better options than this one, especially considering the price of £90 plus for a party of four. We visited over Easter and the experience felt reminiscent of Fawlty Towers. When inquiring about their wine selection, we were told they only had two types - red and white - with just two bottles of white and one of red available. Our starters took about 50 minutes to arrive, during which time we noticed the staff leaving and returning with what appeared to be Italian meats. The focaccia, which was described as fresh, was far from it. Our main courses were disappointing; the Chicken Milanese had the wrong sauce, the meatballs were actually spaghetti bolognese, the Parma Ham Mushroom pizza had a tough base, and only the Carbonara was decent. Despite these issues, we tried to make light of the situation but our friends expressed their dissatisfaction with the meatballs to no avail. The staff seemed uninterested in addressing the problem and pointed the blame at the chef. They say that the true measure of a restaurant is how they handle issues, and in this case, Bella Mamma's fell short. While there may not be many alternatives in Hoylake, the options available are far superior to this establishment.
Unplanned visit to this restaurant and I was very pleasantly surprised. Food was really really good and service was very friendly. Certainly won’t be the last time I eat here......
The Valentine's special menu offered a decent three-course selection with a glass of Prosecco at a reasonable price. The starters, Bruschetta and Arancini, were large portions. The Arancini was tasty, but the Bruschetta was drowned in olive oil, ruining the dish. For mains, I had stuffed chicken with new potatoes and my partner had lasagne. The stuffed chicken was flavorful, but the lasagne was overly sloppy and had a cheap taste to it. For dessert, we both had waffles with ice cream, but found them overly sweet and lacking in flavor. When it came time to pay, I mentioned my concerns to the waiter, who showed no interest in addressing them. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing and failed to meet our expectations. I hope they are able to improve and provide a better dining experience in the future.
In writing this review I am torn to keep this place a secret all to my self but the service and the food, demand that it has got to be brought to other peoples attention . On entering a small but cosy atmosphere we were greeted by a friendly young lady called Ellan who placed us at our table. The menu was presented and we picked Spaghetti Bolognese ,my wife picked Pasta Al Forno , both meals served with garlic bread . The food was delicious and hot , a.must with Italian food. At the end of the meal the chef Alan came round to inquire of our enjoyment of the meal . I am still unsure if I should tell you of this as we would like to return at a later date so please leave some room for us.
This Italian restaurant is definitely the best Italian I have been to within the north west. I went with my family for my birthday and I cant wait to go back for more of there delicious food. I personally had the pizza and it was unbelievable. All of our party loved the food and we will be going back.
