Pizzeria Milano Winnweiler

We ate in this restaurant with 10 people on Christmas Day 2023. It started when we were put in a side room, which was quite dark with no light even though it was midday. The light was only turned on later. There were 3 burned-out candles on the tables that were not replaced for us or were simply lit to burn off the last remaining 3cm. The atmosphere was absolutely not inviting. As mentioned at the beginning, it was Christmas but a decorative Easter bunny looked at us from the side from a wooden cupboard. On top of that. In December we even saved money on heating. We didn't check but it was cool in the room. The stove in the room had enough wood on the side, but that was probably just for decoration. The service was friendly but after we received the drinks there was no sign of us for almost an hour. Nobody asked if we needed anything else. But the highlight was the food, which was brought after 1.5 hours. A time passed from the first to the last meal because the first one was finished when the last one had gotten their food. So I come to the food, which was as good as the service and ambience... below all else. The side salad with the schnitzels had corn and kidney beans in it. We don't know that but that was the least of our problems that day. The salads were all different. One person had what felt like 3 tomatoes, the next none, etc. Even the dressings weren't the same. I myself had a schnitzel that was full of fat, and the deep fryer probably left its mark on it. I suspect something like that at a snack bar, but not in a restaurant. When we had our food, other guests joined us. Before we were alone in the room and didn't hear any other guests. From then on, service came more often. The waitress could have come up with the idea earlier. After all, we had 1.5 hours between drinks and food!!!!!! When we paid we were told that the staff wasn't there. Sorry, but is that our problem? We wanted to experience a nice Christmas dinner. There can always be a staff shortage, but ignoring the guests is not the right option. We would have liked to have been informed about this with an apology. That would probably have been the least. It was no longer necessary for the waitress to ask several times at the end. After 2.5 hours we left the restaurant with the realization that it was the first and last time we were there. Never, ever again.

Beautiful spacious dining area and delicious food. My guests had to eat here twice during their week long visit because the food was so good. The pizza was my favorite. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
