Bidra med feedbackWe were here twice and had two good experiences. Nicely decorated with a fine mix of traditional style and modern elements. Large selection of wines (natural and a menu clearly respected regional styles and ingredients. The prices are fair. Overal, the service was fast, correct and very friendly. The only thing we didn't like was how the old waiter (the owner) turned to the other staff. One (Romanian? Waitress worked so hard in a clearly understated situation and was still sooo friendly and helpful that we found that she really doesn't deserve to be so screamed. Outdated management style? Could be, but this is 2019 and that could have been a 5-score.
When in Winningen on a hot summer day, sitting outside enjoying your meal is a must. On my visit to this delightful small town between the almost vertical wine growing area and the Mosel River, just a few of the restaurants had tables on the outside. The one I was aiming at was even closed semi-permanently. Not so for Klein’s Fronhof coming up with delicious food for my lunch, served with local wine. However, service was very slow, on the verge of rudeness and that took away some of the joy of an excellent kitchen. Winningen has got several good restaurants and Fronhof should be aware of the competition if they want to attract visitors.
I cannot rave about this place enough. As an American tourist, the chef was very kind to come out and help to translate the menu. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was delicious. Just excellent. No complaints here.
Had lunch here with 14 wine lovers for an after-wine tasting lunch. It was a great choice. Food and Service were simply first class.
