The Bistro At the River - Windsor

My favorite spot on the water!!! Couldn't have a more convenient location. The service is pretty consistent over the years. Glad I can enjoy the same menu because it is good and makes come back every time. The food is usually more like a snack than a dinner but tried their perch dinner and it was OK. I feel so relaxed when I go, no matter the season. It's my hidden place, best views to Detroit skyline, still affordable, better service than the Keg around the corner. I hope it stays open for many years to come.

Went there for Virgin 93.9 We Love Drag Brunch. The food was amazing! The service was excellent. Can't wait to go back!

The restaurant had a casual atmosphere, with cloth napkins and a kids menu offering several good options at a reasonable price. I tried the vegan vegetable wrap with pesto, while my dad ordered the poutine, which lacked cheese curds. My husband enjoyed his perch wrap, and we all agreed that the french fries and sweet potato fries were delicious. The service was fast and efficient, with refills on our drinks and clean bathrooms. Overall, my family rated the restaurant between a four and a five, but I personally felt that it exceeded our expectations. It was quick, casual, had a great view of the water, and even served wine from Pelee Island. Despite not being a fan of Ontario wine, I found this detail charming. It was a surprise hit for us, and I would give it a rating of 5. I was able to take a quick walk outside with one of my kids while waiting for our food, adding to the overall positive experience.

Our server was excellent! We had to move tables twice outside because six wasps kept circling around us until we finally moved inside. The food was good overall, although I think the $18 shrimp cocktail was a disappointment. The price was too high for the small amount of shrimp I received, and the lemons on the plate were mushy. I suggest either lowering the price or removing it from the menu. Despite that, the poutine was outstanding - it was huge and one of the best I've ever had!
