Bidra med feedbackWe used to order from Saffron when they were located on Clivemont Rd and never had any issues. However, after they disappeared from our radar, we decided to give them another try when we saw a link in an email from Hungry House. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The original delivery time of 40 minutes ended up taking almost an hour and a half. To make matters worse, the delivery driver identified himself as being from Chutney Jacks, not Saffron as we had ordered from. This was a bad sign for us, as we had previously had negative experiences with Chutney Jacks. The food arrived cold and without the salad we had ordered with our starters. It was particularly frustrating because we live just yards away from Chutney Jacks, and we usually collect our orders from there to avoid such issues. We would not recommend this restaurant and will not be ordering from them again, regardless of the name they are using.
The staff at this restaurant were very friendly, and the delivery driver was excellent. However, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The butter chicken I ordered was a bright yellow color, unlike the traditional tikka color I was expecting, and it was overly sweet. The chicken inside was not marinated and was rubbery and barely cooked. The lamb tikka starter was overcooked, chewy, and extremely spicy. I ordered £20 worth of food, and even though they offered a 20% discount, they would not honor it because my order was just over the £20 minimum for delivery. I will not be ordering from this restaurant again.
The delivery driver attempted to overcharge me by ten pounds because he confused the numbers 8 and 0. Upon receiving my order, I found that my rice was cold, my chicken was lukewarm and had a strange taste. My partner experienced the same issues with their food - cold dishes and tough, chewy chicken. Additionally, the cold drinks we ordered arrived warm and flat.
Ordered very late on a bank holiday Sunday and they kindly took our order. Delivered within 20minutes. Delivery driver was sweet and ever so polite. Now to the food! It was fresh and piping hot, generous portions and not at all greasy. It almost tasted healthy!! I have lived in Maidenhead for 3 years and have tried a few takeaway curries- all were awful. To the point we gave up. Tried this one as desperately craving a curry and so so glad we did!! Highly recommend.
We ordered takeaway from this place. We were told it would take 40 minutes to get to us, and an hour and 20 minutes later we were still waiting. When I phoned to find out what had happened, they clearly wanted to get me off the phone quickly, and simply said 'sorry ' and then hung up! The food arrived eventually, with the chicken dopiaza extremely bland, and the tarka daal I ordered was oily and incredibly salty. The rice was ok, and the peshwari naan was actually quite nice, with plenty of coconut inside. I definitely wouldn 't order from here again, there are much better Indian restaurants in and around Maidenhead.
