I am typically not someone to write feedback about a hotel experience but I am compelled to share this with the local and online community due to the lack of basic human kindness I just experienced. We have a small cabin approximately 8 miles from Windham. We have been committed to the Windham and surrounding communities since the 80’s through our weekend, holiday and extended summer visits including direct support of this establishment. As background and all unfolding over the past few hours, we unfortunately had a pipe freeze in our cabin and have no bathroom usage, in turn requiring us to seek alternative accommodations for 1 night. As added context, we are unable to head home due to the Nor’Easter currently happening. I asking the female rep if they had availability for the night and she shared quite positively “we have plenty”. I then shared that we need the room for 1 night (for tonight Saturday and check out tomorrow Sunday) due to our unexpected frozen pipe. She said “Oh we have a 2 night minimum”. I asked if she would be willing to help us out given our situation and the fact that she shared she has plenty of rooms. She then abruptly said “You must not have heard me clearly, we have a 2 night minimum.” After I asked again if she would be willing to offer any flexibility b/c we are in such a bind and she could add to her inventory usage for the night, she just hung up on me. I’m actually sitting here stunned and so disappointed by what just occurred especially since this is an establishment that is deeply rooted in the local community and not a bunch of city hipsters who recently showed up. Why that last snarky comment….because it was the city hipsters establishment that graciously helped us out.
Played the 9-hole Valley course with a few friends. The staff is very welcoming, the vibe is laid-back, and the other golfers are friendly and patient. This course is great for a relaxed round of golf, no matter your experience.
Beautiful bar and restaurant. Friendly service. Love it!
Had lunch at the main house after our round of golf. The food is good pub fare with some daily specials and served attentively by B, a waitress who really cares about her patrons.
