Bidra med feedbackWe first sat in the main restaurant, which isn't very atmospheric and was extremely hot, such that I asked to move to the conservatory, which was cooler and generally nicer. The staff were friendly and attentive, especially one particularly lovely waitress, and the food was...nice. However, we started with nibbles', which came after about minutes and then waited a further for our main courses. Also, beware: we were shocked when we received our bill, as it turned out the price published for the wine we ordered was for not a bottle, which was more! Our mistake, but have never been to an establishment whose wine list prices are for half litres rather than bottles, plus the prices seemed more commensurate with bottle prices!
While en route to Bath, my partner and I always make a pit stop at Bishopstrow House in Warminster. For my partner's upcoming birthday, I wanted to surprise him by checking out the hotel to see if he liked it before booking. We ordered two coffees and settled into the lounge, only to find a woman monopolizing the fire and treating the space like her personal office. We moved to another lounge where the fire wasn't lit, making it cold and uncomfortable. The receptionist eventually lit the fire, but used too much coal, making it smoky. The coffee arrived, but it was overbrewed and the coffee jug was dirty. The mismatched cups and dirty jug were unappetizing, and the service lacked the usual warmth and cleanliness we expected. The hotel manager and another staff member came into the lounge for a meeting, prompting me to leave. When asked if they had driven me out, I confirmed that they had. This experience was a far cry from the usual high standards we have come to expect from hotels like Chewton Glen and Café Royal in London. It seems like the hotel is struggling and doesn't value its guests. Additionally, when I asked to pass by the cleaner while going upstairs to the restroom, she rudely refused. I will not be returning to this hotel and don't need any further explanations. Thank you.
We recently stayed at this beautiful hotel for a family get together to mark the passing of a loved one. We were staying with our little year old and we were dubious as to how such a setting would be compatible with, at times,...a very lively and inquisitive toddler! I want to extend a genuine thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making the stay so wonderful and relaxing. Not once were we made to feel that our child was disturbing the ambience of the hotel and the staff could not have been more attentive or helpful or kind to our little one. From upgrading us to a spacious suite (always handy when travelling with a child too happily providing bedtime milk and toast, we felt right at home and valued as customers. We will most certainly be recommending this stunning hotel to others and hope to return in the future.
We celebrated at birthday here last Sunday. We had a private room for our family meal. This meant that the children could talk move about without disturbing other dinners. It was a really fabulous room. The food was delicious good quality. We had...a choice of food that we pre ordered. Drinks were pricey but that didn’t come as a surprise. Staff helpful friendly. For a special celebration I would recommend.
Excellent restaurant, but could use a renovation. Located conveniently for visiting Stonehenge, Longleat, and the stunning Stonehead House and Gardens.
