Mariposa Tapas Wilmington

Our waitress was extremely kind and great, however the food was just not good. We ordered 5 items off the menu. We got the empanadas with oxtail in them and the oxtail was extremely cold-almost tasted like it was still frozen. It was a nice experience to try this restaurant but I would definitely try elsewhere.

Our dining experience was above and beyond. We chose the tapas menu for 2. Lakisha was our server and she was amazing! The food was delicious and our overall dining experience was 10/10. We'll definitely be back.

I have been in Spain several times and although they try to copy same stuff from there on the menu, taste/quality is completely far away to be authentic. I expected to have real tapas, but a lot of opportunity to get there. I dont care to pay expensive, but way way pricey for the quality. 2 stars just because they have tropical lightning.

Had the shrimp grits (could’ve used more seasoning or spice), ham cheese (kinda basic, needed sliced tomatoes or maybe pesto) and bruschetta (too much bread and tomato sauce could’ve been thicker, perhaps add basil). Glad we tried it but a bit pricey for the quality we received.
