Restaurant - Cafe Zum Kanapee

One of my favorite stops in Willingen, super friendly, very cozy, amazing food with great presentation!

This is far and foremost a Schnitzel restaurant. But you can have real Argentine steak too. The service is very friendly. Dad in the kitchen, mother and son servicing the customers. Customers are mainly from the family hotel. The food is honest. The salad bar was limited, but fresh. The wine (red Housewine merlot) was great. For 2 wines, 2 steaks, 1 ice cream and 1 coffee we paid 54 euro's.

Restaurant "Zum Kanapee" is a small cosy restaurant, part of the hotel "Zur Alten Post", but in a separate building (see picture). The restaurant has the feeling of a large living room with an open kitchen. Over this living room presides a woman, who could easily play the part of cook in a classic movie about a wealthy family. This woman does everything, being chef, cleaning and setting tables, serving food and settle the bill in an unhurried, efficient pace. The schnitzels are well cooked, the beer is cold and the prices are moderate, the more when you take into account the visit to the excellent salad bar, that is included in the price. To find "Zum Kanapee": The entrance is on the side street from the main road through Willingen, leading to the large car park area, under the huge viaduct.
