I had the pleasure of working at LJC while being a student at Penn College in the Culinary Arts Associates Degree program. It was one of the best experiences of my life. That was in 1999-2000. 23 years, later I still enjoy returning from time to time. The last time I was there was a few years ago on my wedding anniversary. As was in the past, nothing disappoints. From the wait staff to the students/chefs, everything was on point. Hopefully I can make it back again soon. When you know the story behind this place, it makes everything taste even better. There's something to be said about the ambiance, the quality of food, the quality of the staff, and just, overall experience. The price of lunch and even dinner is beyond a bargain. It's downright incredible. I've been twice with work partners and each time we walk away impressed. Students working at the restaurant need to get a ton of credit. They do so well, and work so hard! It's truly incredible. You need to visit with an appetite and save room for desert. I almost never get deserts when I visit restaurants, but this is one place that has routinely surprised me. I expect to go more often! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I've gone to this restaurant for about 4 years straight every chance I get. The food is amazing. Staff is absolutely fantastic. My favorite is their steak and the chocolate soup!!!!! Vegetarian options: They have an amazing veggie selection like eggplant parm!!! I would give this place 6 stars if I could. from the minute they go; efficient, friendly service in a beautiful environment, beautiful tables and decor. there was a small bread basket with butter. it was crispy at the edges and soft in the middle and they tasted like freshly baked bread odor. my daughter and I ordered truffle fries and the wobbly flatbread as appetizers. the fries were perfectly crunchy and seasoned, the flatbread was alternately soft and crispy with a heavenly taste of fresh with a sweet finish. we both had the smashburger. good man! two planted well cooked with crispy edges, caramelized planks, speck cooked to the perfect crack, cheese and burger sauce. yum! with our burgers I ordered the roasted brussel sprouts with mine. these spicy brussel sprouts melted in my mouth. my daughter ordered the mac and cheese. I can't comment on it because it would only share the smallest bite with me. to dessert to go my daughter, ordered the chocolate soup and I took chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. both fulfilled our expectations of the fabulous meal.
