We were celebrating 2 birthdays with a party of ten people..we have been here before and liked the food and atmosphere. The service always was okay..not great. This time the worst ever..!!!! Ten people ordered and only 8 of us got our dinners!! The server totally forgot to order the other 2 dinners...completely ignored the 2 guys who didn 't get their dinners....then had to ask what they ordered..misled them saying they were coming right out. NOT!!! THE GUYS GOT THEIR DINNERS 25 MINUTES LATER AFTER EVERYONE ELSE IN OUR PARTY HAD FINISHED THEIR MEALS AS OURS WAS GETTING COLD!! Never did the server offer to comp the 2 guys meals!! He said he was the manager later on and that is not their policy!!!! He offered dessert to us but we didn 't care for it at this point!! Our evening was totally ruined and our bill with drinks and food was like $800!! I had worked in the food service business for 30 years at high end restaurants and never seen anyone treat their customers in this deplorable manner!! I explained to the server how disappointed we were and got no place! I told him YOU SHOULD LEARN ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT !!!!! Later we get a phone call from this place saying all 10 of us are barred from this establishment because this 72 year old lady here pointed her finger at the server and they called the police !!!!! Cannot believe this!! Of course we would have never gone back there to begin with!! Done with my rant!!The CUSTOMER IS NOT RESPECTED AT PUTNEYVILLE GRILL!!!
Had a great experience here. Made reservations for Saturday at 7:00 only a couple days before the weekend for outdoor seating and they were able to accommodate which was surprising since the weather was perfect that day, I assumed they would have been booked. Had a great Moscow Mule at the bar upstairs before being seated. Had the shrimp cocktail appetizer which was not bad, girlfriend had the duck w/ a lobster tail for her entree, I had the 8oz filet w/ lobster tail. The duck was cooked perfect and was excellent, my filet came out overdone and I never usually send things back but decided to on this occasion because nobody likes an overdone filet minion. They fixed it without question and brought out some tuna tartar for me while I waited. The new one came out and was cooked perfectly and we had a great evening. I'd recommend this place to anyone for a special occasion. Great food, awesome view, and excellent service.
My family I came here after an evening of sailing. These 2 stars are for their ambience and outdoor seating. We sat outside, which was superb! Beautiful few and a nice quiet setting overlooking the water and marina. The service however was terrible. Our waitress never introduced herself, never went over the specials (apparently they had gazpacho that night and my dad loves gazpacho. He was very upset because if he had known about it, he would have ordered it! . She also never brought us bread and she had no idea how to pour wine correctly and she struggled to open the bottle. Time to talk about the food... It was average and overpriced. I enjoyed my meal (chefs pasta special with artichokes, chicken and spinach . We all agreed that the food was average and overpriced. $22 for some pasta! Our drinks were pretty good! They have a nice wine selection. I also had a mojito, which was good, but not the best I've had. I would come back here for the excellent outdoor seating, but I'm hesitant because of the terrible service and the prices.
The location is beautiful. The parking lot is small and gets filled up easily and there is barely anywhere else to park nearby. The drinks were bad. My aunt got a mojito and it came with one sprig of mint and a single lime wedge, which is unacceptable in a mojito. The painkiller tastes like straight rum and does not have the fruity flavor as advertised. The server was forgetful and also not great and looked angry and was clearly talking smack about the table when we complained about the drinks. We were a table of 7 where 20% gratuity is included and I feel like our experience definitely suffered because of that. The mussels and calamari were great as appetizers. I had the snow crab special, which was a veritable mountain of crab. It took me about an hour to eat it. The blueberry pie was delicious for dessert.
Sadly, a former favorite of ours has fallen far from elegance. The location and decor service have stayed lovely, but the food is diner-like. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich and it was undressed and dry- I requested a condiment and was give a pre-filled container of plain mayo and mustard. Seriously? No Sriracha aioli? Or something more chef-like? a re-try for dinner on another date failed to impress. The food is now boring, over-priced, and lacking in sophistication. Bummer. We were bi-weekly regulars who will not return- until their chef and menu improves.
