Bidra med feedbackPro Our reserve tasting tour guide Victoria was awesome. Victoria was very knowledgeable about the wine making process and the wines. Victoria was on time for the tour and had everything ready for the group in the various stages when needed. Victoria was fun to chat and joke with to make the experience even more enjoyable.Con During the purchasing process my group was met by Camden at the register. He was nicely asked to clean our glasses, since it was a service provided on other occasion. Camden proceeded to put a napkin in the wine glass without acknowledging the request. I therefore insisted that he cleaned them properly since I was a returning customer and this was not how it was done then. Camden left the area to honor my request, however when he returned he placed the glasses on the counter and walked away. This was very unprofessional of him and his customer service skills were unbecoming. I ask for a manager and was informed he was the manager. So here we are with the CON portion of my review.Instead of me talking about the wonderful experience I had with Victoria the rest of the day, I shared how rude and unprofessional Camden was.
I have been visiting Williamsburg Winery for the last couple of years. It has never disappointed. I love that it is very close to colonial Williamsburg, but at the same time, it is practically in the country side. We love the somewhat European style of the whole setting and the multiple outdoor areas. Plenty of space for children and well behaved dogs to hang out with. The wines are very delicious. We don’t like wines that are too dry or too sweet. However, the mid summer nights white was a good compromise. Plenty of parking space and excellent setting to have a glass of wine under the tree. There are plenty of indoor areas as well. However, we never really venture into them. it is my understanding that the food is really good and the tavern seems to be the place to go for most people.
This place is truly a hidden gem!! I most certainly should have taken more pictures of the beautiful vineyard and restaurant but I was too busy enjoying the moment! I visited this place for the first time and I must say it was truly a great experience. I tried two wine flights while there. They have such a great selection! The wine tasting space was very homely and still very much decorated as if it were the colonial times. There's so much beautiful artwork on the walls as well! The staff were very friendly and polite while there. I'd love to visit this place again! By the way, you get a free wine glass to take home with you after wine tasting!!
Sadly it was raining during our tour so we were unable to fully explore the outdoor vines and had to do most of the tour indoors. The guide (Gail I believe) was extremely helpful and if she didn’t know something she let us know where to find the information. The tasting setup was beautiful and my husband had an awesome birthday experience. He bought a recommended bottle of Chardonnay and their lovely Merlot cheese. Highly recommend.
Beyond disappointed with ambiance, service and wines! Felt like a sports bar but without the food options or decent libations! Certainly did not feel like a winery. Owners obviously care very little about the customers or their experience!
