Bidra med feedbackOur experience at The Jefferson was amazing! Service was friendly and accommodating. Waiters and waitresses were knowledgeable. The owner was on the premises and interacting with customers. The food was hot and delicious! The dinner rolls are incredible!!! We will be back!
I was looking forward to having a wonderful meal at this darling colonial restaurant. The atmosphere was what I expected and wanted. Our server Weston was great! The owner was as nice and pleasant as can be and seemed genuinely grateful you were there. Now the food was not up to what I was expecting. It seemed no better than cafeteria food. The costs were pretty high for what you got. I ordered the stuffed pork chop with cornbread stuffing. It wasn’t a pork chop, it was a thin piece of ground pork folded over a mushy stuffing covered in jarred brown gravy. Not a pork chop at all! My husband got the Jefferson’s sampler dinner. The fried chicken breast was very dry, the ham was salty however the sauce that came with it cut that down and was really good, the ribs were great fell off the bone. The mashed potatoes not good! They were definitely instant with the same brown gravy. Sorry to say we will not be going again.
Dinner was fantastic! We were greeted with wonderful Southern hospitality our server, Terry, was terrific. The food was delicious Terry couldn’t be more accommodating. Prices were reasonable. She was friendly courteous took the time to explain Southern delicacies to us.
We visited this restaurant on our vacation recently. The atmosphere is alright but you could tell it was an older restaurant. We had a bigger party but they were able to sit us for dinner pretty quickly as it was not busy. The server was nice and explained the menu fairly well. The food was ehh. Definitely not worth the price. My mother in laws steak was sent back because it was too tough to eat. It was cooked properly but so chewy it was like rubber. They still made her pay for her sides to her meal but took off the main course. The ham I had was dry and salty. The fried chicken was crispy but really didn't have much flavor or spice to it. My meal alone was almost $30.Towards the end of the meal instead of asking if we wanted desserts the server automatically brought over a try of cakes etc. This of course caused a little chaos with the kids as they saw desserts and wanted them. I would suggest not doing that if the table has kids in the future.Unfortunately if we visit Williamsburg in the future, we probably would not be back to this restaurant.
Over all it was a good meal. We had a party of 6 and it wasn’t busy at all, only one other table when we arrived. We had several questions and our waitress, Brandy, answered them all. She was friendly and prompt. I felt the portion sizes were small for the price. For reference 2 crab stuffed shrimp added into a meal was $10.95. We had two orders of onion rings as an appetizer, they had a good taste but the onions inside were mushy. I order the fried catfish, Jefferson salad, and mashed potatoes. My meal was good and fresh! They have really good homemade ranch dressing! Others in my party were not overly pleased with their meals. They said it was good but would go to another restaurant next time. The kids meals were pricey but my kids enjoyed the food (chicken tenders and spaghetti). The desserts were delicious!! The key lime pie is a lime cheesecake, it’s good. They bring them table-side for you to pick out. There was an issue with our bill. The waitress has to split the check prior to check out and she wasn’t available to do that so we had one person pay and would split it later on our own. No big deal but awkward when you’re standing up front with a large group. We had to call the restaurant and have them decipher our ticket. It ended up being the person who couldn’t split our ticket that had to explained it all over the phone. I think he realized this during the call and was embarrassed for how it was handled. The owner ended up coming to our hotel and leaving a coupon and refunding about 10% of our bill. I gave 4 stars because the owner stepped up to make it right. He seemed like a genuinely nice person.
