Viet Shack - Wigan

Due to a stomach condition, I have restrictions on what I can eat. The restaurant refused to disclose the ingredients in their chicken marinade, claiming it was a secret recipe. The server was rude when I asked for a burger without sauce or garnishes, and fries without seasoning. This request is not uncommon, and other restaurants have been accommodating in the past. I understand my diet may be boring, but I don't need to be reminded in front of others by an ignorant waitress. You made the situation uncomfortable and unwelcoming for me and my group. Please improve your service.

It's always a challenge to decide on a restaurant in the Arndale market, but this place stands out as one of the top choices. The food is excellent and the service is speedy.

I am know frequent visitor to this site, today it was cash only as it often is due to Wi-Fi signal issues. I asked for half rice half chips on my quack fries (I have had this before). However I was told, they are not Chinese and don’t want to be associated with Chinese therefore this was not an option. I responded that I didn’t ask for that reason and actually fancied a bit of both as it’s slightly better than just fries. The lady that was distracted, due to being on her mobile phone had to look up again and said no we can’t do that for you. I replied I’ll go elsewhere then. What use to be a positive experience at this unit, has now left me searching elsewhere. This was not a big ask and definitely something they could accommodate as previously done.

I get lunch from Viet Shack regularly as it’s fresh and tasty. The lady that takes the orders is warm and welcoming. Recommended What we love: Tasty food that is reasonably priced in comparison to places around in Arndale Food recommendations: BBQ meats with rice. Both the quack and shack fries are very nice What could be improved: Prawn portions on meals that come with it When I order less popular dishes, they didn’t come with everything that was advertised. For example, the prawn and chicken slaw was missing mango, and fresh herbs (coriander mint) which left me disappointed

The food at this restaurant is delicious and well-prepared. It is very popular, which is always a positive sign. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Reservations are not accepted, so you will need to leave your contact information for them to reach out to you. The atmosphere is a bit cozy, but still enjoyable.
