Papa Luigis - Wigan

This is my favorite restaurant. I have been coming here with my family for a long time and always enjoy the food. My younger daughter always chooses the spaghetti bolognese, even though we try to get her to try something different! I had the prawn tagliatelle, which was delicious. The service was personalized and attentive, making sure all our needs were met, including desserts and coffee.

The regular diners at this restaurant have always had a nice meal and good service in the past. However, on this particular visit, the calamari was overcooked and the mayo had a dried out edge. Despite this, we continued with our meal. The BBQ pork ribs were cold in the center and only lukewarm on the outside, so we sent them back to the kitchen. The lasagne was hot and delicious inside, but not warm enough to share as a couple. When the ribs were returned, they were still not hot. The manager explained that both dishes had been in the same oven at 400 degrees, but failed to consider that the lasagne was already hot. Ultimately, we decided to share the lasagne, as it was impossible to reheat without warning. The manager never came by to check on us, leaving the staff annoyed. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, but overall had a disappointing evening. We were offered a free limoncello as a gesture, but would have preferred not to pay for the lasagne that was served on a cold plate. The manager did not refund us for our meal.

Gorgeous food and excellent service. The atmosphere is wonderful. You can't beat their offer of £4.95 for any pasta or pizza. The staff are friendly and professional. I will definitely be returning!

Friday evening booking with the family everything felt completely hurried. the restaurant was completely full, but the bar area was full of people waiting to take place. Unfortunately, it was because of the fact that it was busy, the noise level was really high, so it was difficult to get a talk. good that we are due to credit, that eating was good. the pizza was not very fat.

Organised collection service from the take away menu, usual great food and service during Covid 1. Meal ready on time and still hot once at home.
