First American - Wien Oesterreich

When you are an American in Vienna, what is more appropriate then visiting an American Bar? We happened by and decided it would be okay for a drink. We decided that since it was an American bar, we'd do a shot of Tennesse bourbon. Natrually. We did the shot, paid, and left. Otherwise, I cannot really comment on it too much. It was just okay, nothing terribly special, nothing terrible.

I would recommend staying away from this establishment. The drinks are expensive, the portions are small, our server was rude, and they don't clarify the minimum amount for card purchases minimum €15). It was also not specified on the menu that a minimum of four shots needed to be purchase for the strawberry shots €6.50 each) due to them being made in a big batch. At that point, why even offer them as shots? Wouldn't recommend this place, there are better places around the area.

I've been there a few times and I find myself coming back. It's the bar where I am absolutely one hundred percent sure that the cocktails will be delicious. The waiters are friendly and always in a good mood no matter how busy they are. If the bar is very full it may take a little longer until you get served but you can be sure that you'll get served the way you like it. Definitely worth a visit! Definitely worth coming back!

It is very obvious that the people who work there don 't like to serve people who sit upstairs in the non smoking area. They are annoyed if you want to sit there and they try to seat you as close to the smoking area as possible. You have to walk through the lung cancer inducing fog to get to the non smoking area and again when you leave. It 's disgusting. They don 't deserve to be called 'American ' bar! An American bar would never allow people to smoke on their premises.

This bar is a hidden gem. Not really noticeable as you walk by but well worth stopping in. It has a real bluesy feel with dark wood and low lighting. There is an extensive cocktail listing. Service was friendly and after 2 visits we felt like regulars. We found it a great place for pre or post dinner drinks as it is right next to Da Capo.
