Bidra med feedbackTwo years ago we were at steirereck and were blown away by the food and the service. this time we decided to bring the meierei, the modest bistro brother, to the famous restaurant. they are strongly recommended to make a reservation. (we have) as the place will probably be full on a weekday. it is simple, light and welcoming with magnificent views of the park and the Wiental canal. we started with beef tatar, which is differently seasoned than what I (with less wobbles and pfeffer) but extremely delicate and fresh meat and a pleasant taste, distributed on the delicious toasts it was simply great. the evening meal was very good. one of us had the grilled carp that was an excellent choice, my partner liked the filled lamb breast, I just tried it and was not too sharp on it. two of us had the beginning of the day (drilled hecht), it was excellent. I had a double espresso (gross browner), which was one of the most beautiful coffee I ever had. unfortunately we had no space for the cheese selection, one day we have to go back to try. service was good (but not comparable to that in the main restaurant). prices are high, but acceptable for the level of the place. if they want a good meal in a beautiful environment than this is a good place if they want extremely high quality food and service (and not the high cost), then they go to the steirereck main restaurant.
From the family behind steirereck in the city park meierei is the more casual distractor with water view, great service and classic recipes, which were created with high quality ingredients by the skillful hands of chef heinz reitbauer and personal. open on weekdays and an hour later. Saturday with three services daily, the menu seasonal postponed, guests in the meierei will find a similar color palate to the gourmet restaurant above, while a terrace facing the city park illuminates the room by floor-like glass. next to the meadow river with overripe cheeses and a casual larder, plus brot from the steirereck bakery, lunch for most in three curses, an appetizer by beef consommé almost as complex as reitbauers previously tasted high-time soup, while “Fish Sticks” by trout are crispy and tasty alone or pulled through creamy currants. excessively generated with portions despite a bib gourmand price point, the tallye for two without alcohol, contains a delicate pork chop grilled under hummus and fried bits, while traditional veal beuscherl fetches much taste of offal, which is mowed by marjoram and hearty dumplings, jammed freshly from the often order
I had booked this place to celebrate the bday of my friend and had mentioned this in the booking email, which expresses my desire to the perfect birthday for him. when we were there, we sat in a eckish, without cutlery, not a crook, no water, no serviettes. after a minute waiting time and some point to the waiters, we went to the headgear. who instructed another waiter who brought bread and butter and a small dish. but still not cute, no serviettes. when we finally caught the attention of a waiter, he said that it was all the fault of the head waiter and began to complain and blaze others on his unprofessional service. at the end our table was maintained by the only professional waiter, a very nice and sensitive Turkish man who escapes the names and who tried hard to save the day. very disappointing, but thanking the only good waiter that he has minimized our irritation during what a romantic birthday dinner should be. Recommendation: do not go, unless a drink on the terrace along the Vienna River.
Comfortable park environment, friendly member of staff, but did not quite understand why they did ask for a reservation, although it wasn't actually required. Will definitely go again and recommend this place, for sure.
Beautifully located in the middle of a nice park, the restaurant offers friendly service and good Austrian food. Nice terrace and superbe choice of cheese .
