Bidra med feedbackAlways great Malaysian food here. We Often get the hawker dishes to takeaway especially the Ipoh hor fun. When eating in this time we had the prawn on noodles which is like lobster noodles (if you eat this you'll know what I mean) but with big juicy prawns. There are often specials that are not on menu so make sure you ask. Unfortunately I was there when a large man was shouting and being very very aggressive towards a much smaller waitress however she didn't back down and I was wondering whether I'd need to jump in case he got worse! Some people honestly have no manners.
Malaysian food will always have a special place in my tummy no matter where my feet bring me. I have recently been more engrossed in exploring the eastern suburbs for good feeds than venturing into the city as this enables me to get my fix quicker. Service here is friendly and nothing makes me happier than seeing staff members getting along well, something not commonly seen in most Asian restaurants.
The restaurant is a decent size, with a cozy ambiance. We were seated at a round table, and the staff were friendly. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The Yong Tau Foo L was large and had a great texture, with fishballs stuffed in bitter gourd, eggplant, and broccoli. The stir-fried Indian noodle with vegetables was flavorful and well-spiced, with perfectly cooked noodles. The king prawn noodle dish was also delicious, with juicy prawns and well-cooked egg noodles topped with sweet soy sauce. The Ayam Kapitan fried chicken was crispy, not oily, and full of flavor. The cuttlefish was tender and chewy, with a crispy exterior and a delicious sweet, sour, and spicy sauce. Unfortunately, the cendol dessert was below average. Overall, a fantastic spot for a group or family meal with authentic Malaysian dishes at a reasonable price. Check it out! Follow for more reviews from Joelle.
I satisfied my craving with the delicious dishes from Rasa Malaya. I had heard wonderful things about this longstanding restaurant. The crispy chicken was incredibly tasty, perfectly crispy. The soup was a refreshing palate cleanser. The salt pepper pork was bursting with flavor, topped with garlic, spring onion, and chili. I absolutely loved this place and would return in a heartbeat.
After not visiting Rasa Malaya for many years, it felt like a comfortable homecoming. The service has greatly improved and the food is better than ever. I particularly enjoyed the rainbow fish salad, which was authentic and delicious. The Hainanese chicken rice was a standout, with tender chicken and fragrant rice. The cendol was the highlight of the meal, leaving me wanting more. The familiar flavors at Rasa Malaya have made me eager to return soon.
