It took 45 minutes to receive our early lunch, which was much too long for a casual dining experience. The food was mediocre and the staff did not apologize for the slow service. The bill came to $50 for two adults and two children, which was pricey for a diner. There are better dining options in Whitby, so I would recommend avoiding this restaurant.
I like going out for breakfast (and lunch and dinner) and have tried all of the local choices. Last week I tried Wimpy's for the first time and was impressed. I had one of the combos which came with 3 eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes and toast. The food was very good fluffy eggs, lots of meat, crisp potatoes and toast. The price was excellent as well and I don't see any reason to return to the other breakfast restaurants. The breakfast menu had so many choices and you could easily come here for weeks and order something different every time.
Wimpy's is our favorite breakfast spot in Whitby. The service is exceptional, with some of the best waitresses who are attentive, friendly, and genuinely happy to make your visit enjoyable. The prices are reasonable for a delicious home-cooked breakfast. My go-to order is the bacon and eggs, which includes three eggs, choice of toast, homefries, and choice of breakfast meat. I always request my bacon crispy, and it is cooked perfectly every time. The turkey bacon is also a standout option. The coffee is excellent as well. We love snagging a window seat to watch the hustle and bustle on Brock Street. We can't wait to return to Wimpy's soon!
My husband and I tried to go for dinner on a Saturday evening. Hours posted both on-line and on the door said they were open until 8 p.m. We arrived at 6:40 And they were closed with no sign giving an explanation why. I had read in reviews that this was a common occurrence. I guess the reviews were correct!
