Smash Kitchen - Whitby

The restaurant was very nice with great atmosphere, and the service was slkw at first but got better.After 2 visits, I would say the food doesn't really justify the price.I had the mushroom bucatini and it was ok. As a mushroom lover, I was expecting more mushrooms. Instead, there were just small chunks. An ok meal but certainly not worth $30.My wife had the fish tacos and found the fish a bit mushy and tacos lacking in flavor.

I ordered the smash burger and fries.The burger was slightly bland and needed more or stronger sauce. The main flavor profile was just the pickles, I think the burger should have been a bit bigger specifically the burger patties.The fries tasted clean but lacked salt and were only moderately crispy.The atmosphere and service were good and nothing to complain about. But I go to a restaurant for the food. Maybe I just ordered the wrong item.For 20 dollars, it was a bit lacking especially since the restaurant is called smash kitchen. The other people in my table seemed to enjoy their food but I would not recommend the burger. Maybe they should change the name of the restaurant lol since the smash burger was not great.

I ordered via Uber Eats. I normally get the BBQ Brisket Hash or French Toast which are BOTH amazing and never disappoint. Today tho.... I decided to try something different and ordered the Mushroom Bucatini which is AWFUL!!!Pasta is gravely overcooked, nearing the consistency of mashed potatoes while drowing in a thick lumpy cream sauce. There's about 5 mushrooms in it and you can smell the truffle, not really taste it but smell it.To add insult to injury, the serving aize was rude and disrespectful short considering it was $29 tax for tasteless mushy pasta drowning in a lumpy cream sauce. Maybe the small serving was an angel in disguise for me to tell everyone:DO NOT ORDER THIS!Greater than half of the container is just lumpy sauce.

The service we received was incredible! By far the most attentive waitress ever! I 'm so sorry that I don 't remember your name, but you were so extremely friendly and kind!!The food was good, but nothing wow . Unfortunately the kitchen burned the first burger they made, so my girlfriend and I waited for a long time for our food.However, our super nice waitress was very kind about it, and offered us a free dessert.The atmosphere was not what we were expecting. Pictures online make it look like it could be date night material. It 's definitely not.It 's a sports bar, with a fancy look.Loud atmosphere, lots of TV 's, very beautiful bar, and uncomfortable seating.I wouldn 't recommend it for a date, but I would recommend it for good pub/bar to go to or for a quick bite to eat with friends for lunch.Very very casual, don 't like the mood lighting fool you!

Delicious and big portions for brunch! The pancakes and chicken was interesting since it's usually waffles but I enjoyed it quite a bit, the chicken was tender and plentiful :
