Steep's Grill - Whistler

My husband and I were excited to dine on the mountain a few days ago, but unfortunately our experience was quite disappointing. It took a minimum of 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us and bring us water. After that, a server finally took our order... I debated whether to order our meal with drinks at the same time, as I prefer to have my food before my drinks. However, we weren't sure when the server would return, so we went ahead and ordered both. Our lunch arrived about 15 minutes later, but I had to specifically request my wine. This was a major oversight by the restaurant!! The food was decent, but the service continued to be subpar. I had to get up and ask for the bill myself. The menu was limited, the prices were high, the service was poor, and the overall dining experience was lacking. We will not be in a hurry to return to Steeps restaurant.

I can't say enough good things about Steeps. My family and I love coming here before hitting the slopes every morning. Despite the limited menu due to COVID-19, we always leave satisfied and happy to return each week. We appreciate the effort the staff puts in to make our experience great, from the hostesses to the bartenders to the chefs. The food is always fresh and well-prepared, and the service is top-notch. The limited menu works well for them given their staffing constraints, and we are happy to support them. The staff, including Grace, Sara, Vanessa, Tess, Paul, Lorna, Becky, Steve, Rob, and Victoria, are all fantastic. We feel safe with the strict safety protocols they have in place. I absolutely adore this restaurant. We had a wonderful table by the window and enjoyed the champagne, hummus, Crudite star, fish curry, and Schokopudding. The service was excellent and the price was fair considering the location.

I love Steiler the food is excellent! the truffle friars are TO DIE FOR and the burger is brilliant. There is a wide selection of cocktails and drinks and the bar staff are great fun and excellent to make recommendations. I would recommend sitting at the bar because it is a really friendly atmosphere up there. The views are also amazing. It's a little expensive, but worth every penny. The Banh Mi Sandwich is also great

Great service and great food for an elegant on mountain dining experience. We had both the short ribs and the short rib poutine. While the poutine was good and novel, we thought the standard short rib was better. It was terrible weather outside so we...were glad we made reservations first thing in the morning. As lunch was nearing the end, the waiters came around and let us know the gondola was closing due to weather. That was very nice as some of our guests were older and it would have been a miserable ski down.
