Bennett's Fish Chips

The fish and chips were amazing! I can't wait to go back this week. The restaurant is in a great location and the prices are very reasonable. Just remember to come hungry because the portions are huge!

I am not sure what has happened, but the quality at this restaurant has significantly decreased. The server was unfriendly and never even greeted us. The chips were overcooked and had hard bits, and the battered sausage was not appetizing. The batter was tasteless and of poor quality. Additionally, if you are going to charge customers top prices, the food needs to be better than this. I will not be returning to Bennetts.

Before ordering from this restaurant, I advise you to read the reviews. The food quality was terrible and it was delivered cold. It was a complete waste of money! I will not be ordering from here again.

Went to Bennetts for some well earned fish and chips after a New Year's Day swim. Sadly we were disappointed. The restaurant is always crazily busy with ques out the door. As far as I can work out it's due to poor staff service and not the quality of the food. They had no large cod on order so they had to be cooked to order. The cod was also rejected by the children who didn't like the after taste. Lots of stuff is cooked to order, but no sign telling you this so that you can get your orders in ahead of paying and cut down the time. They had a festive edition of battered sprouts which were really tasty but... The picture showed a huge mountain of them, the reality is for over £3 you get 10 sprouts looking VERY lonely in a box. Yup 30p a sprout! Not even Waitrose charges that much. In short very much style over substance and with so many better chippies in Weymouth and near by I'd avoid!

The male member of the staff was extremely rude and snide to the people waiting outside for service. Such a patronising awful human being. As a local, who supported you through COVID I will never enter your premises again and will certainly advise tourism to avoid you at all cost.
