The waitress was rude and the food was below average. I was not allowed to order a small plate because I am not a child under 5, and instead, I was recommended the OAP meal. It was a terrible experience with disappointing service and food. If you want good fish and chips, it's better to stick to Winston's.
The tables are packed in tightly, making it difficult to move around. The prices are very high, with £39 spent on two small lunches. A small serving of peas cost £3.10. While I understand that the cost of ingredients has risen, charging £2.50 for the tiniest cup of tea is excessive. It felt like we were being overcharged from the start. However, the fish was tasty. Overall, I can only give a rating of 2 out of 5 due to the poor value for money.
All tables were reserved on arrival although I’m sure that we couldn’t reserve in advance. Hence we were given a rubbish table as apparently all the empty tables were reserved!! We were in a hurry and ready to order, but the tall waitress wouldn’t take our order until after a group of 6 had ordered as they entered the restaurant before us !!! I get this if it was a takeaway but the group weren’t even ready to order. We left… meal experience ruined. Please remember that we are the paying customer and it’s not cheap to eat in!
The staff was extremely abrupt and rude. Despite not being able to book a table, there were tables reserved and we were placed at an uncomfortable table, even though there were other empty tables available.
