The Oak - West Virginia

This was quite a serendipity so close to the state park. My prime rib was generous, juicy and perfectly cooked. The service was prompt but not overbearing. I have been to great restaurants in New York and New Orleans, Seoul and Beijing, and this place would earn five stars in all the great cities.

Escargot: excellent. New york strip: excellent. Prime rib: excellent. They have about 30 different bourbons. Can not fault this place at all.

Had a wonderful time. Server was new but so attentive! Good was great. Loved the fried oyster appetizer.

Food was good, and service was good, but this place is not made for handling larger parties. There was over 2 hour waits on getting food for a large party. Not organized about how they get orders placed. My table did not get bread or dessert because of how long things were taking. I would recommend eating here as a date or a small party less than 8, but I would NOT recommend this for large parties.
