Bidra med feedbackFirst visit after having walked by a number of times. The place has a comfortable and welcoming environment that I loved, staff and owner are super friendly and knowledgeable. The quality of their coffee and baked goods is also superb, and all at a very decent price for the area we are in definitely recommend a visit!
This is an Asian/Japanese-style cafe located in Kits, on 4th Avenue. In addition to serving up various drinks, both hot and cold, they have various sandwiches and baked goods. I had a Matcha Latte, Japanese Cheesecake, and Matcha Pound Cake. While I wasn't a huge fan of their cheesecake, I enjoyed the pound cake and was impressed by their latte, which had a pretty good matcha flavour. The staff was friendly and the prices were fair. This is definitely worth checking out.<br/ <br/ Matcha Latte $4.75):<br/ 4/5<br/ The latte was actually not sweet at all, but was slightly bitter with a creamy texture. It had a pretty good matcha flavour, which was quite impressive seeing that most matcha-flavoured drinks tend to be a little weak.<br/ <br/ Japanese Cheesecake $4):<br/ 3/5<br/ The cake was more light and yogurt like compared to NY cheescake. The filling was creamy and tangy, but a bit lacking in flavour and gummy in some areas. Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of the crust beneath, which was a bit grainy.<br/ <br/ Matcha Pound Cake around $4-5):<br/ 3.5/5<br/ The cake was a bit hard, but still tasty and had a mildly sweet flavour. The matcha flavour was a bit weak, but that is kind of expected from most matcha-flavoured desserts.<br/ <br/ Summary:<br/ Food: 3.5/5<br/ Price: 4/5<br/ Service: N/A<br/ Overall: 3.5/5<br/ Recommendations: Matcha Latte, Matcha Pound Cake
This modern and contemporary coffee shop has such a great standard and quality of latte. Wherever I go to a coffee shop, I must try a latte. Oh man! The latte here was the greatest and most awesome that I felt like I was drinking it in heaven. It was so good that whoever in this neighbourhood should come here to try it or any other coffee beverages! The latte had a great texture and great amount of coffee and milk. It was very smooth and each sip of the latte that went through my mouth and teeth made me so satisfied. <br/ <br/ I also tried their double baked almond croissant. This coffee shop bakes their own pastries. So fresh and delicious! I only had good comments about their beverages and food but nothing else. <br/ <br/ I love the contemporary design here that who the heck would think of having a big piece of cloud as a decoration in the coffee shop?! The wood furniture makes this coffee shop more natural and comfortable. Well...get into the washroom and see how this coffee shop decorates it well even though it is just a washroom. I can see the owner and staff here really keep and run this coffee shop well. <br/ <br/ Don't just read what I wrote here. Just come here and try it yourself. I am hoping this coffee shop will continue staying at its great standard and quality and keep improving themselves to survive in such a competitive market. <br/ <br/
I should start this review by saying CALM THE DOWN, THIS IS NOT THE ONLY CAFE IN VANCOUVER. It’s just called The Only Cafe. Jeeze, you’re always such a freaking drama queen. The daft thing about this place is that you may have walked past it before and not even noticed. If that’s the case, allow me to introduce you to Kitsilano’s best kept secret.
The place is neat and tidy. The interior decor has a handmade taste.Every corner of the store is filled with design and humor. They are specialized in coffee and tea. They have good pastries and cakes. They have live music and painting events occasionally. This place doesn't stand out from outside. But once inside, it's a pleasant place to stay.
