West on Centre - WEST ROXBURY

This was my 3rd time eating at West on Center, but 1st time leaving a review. When we arrived, the hostess didn’t believe that we had a reservation. We had made this reservation 3 days beforehand. She then double checked and found our reservation but then told us she didn’t see it because we made the reservation online. I don’t understand why they would have the option to make a reservation online if the staff doesn't check for them. Either way, we didn’t have to wait because there was a high top available. Food is hit or miss. I remember being impressed with their food on my 1st visit. Then I returned a few months later to just ok food. Yesterday, my family and I went there for brunch…and unfortunately the food was just ok again. I enjoyed their banana pancakes and my drink Aperol Spritz. My husband got their huervos rancheros and he didn’t like the way it tasted. They were very heavy handed with with Old Bay Seasoning on the potatoes. The huervos rancheros were also not made correctly. They basically tossed 2 tortillas on the side of the dish which is what I would expect for a taco or fajita dish and not huervos rancheros. We’re used to the fried or charred tortillas UNDER the beans and eggs, so that everything is eaten together. My kids got their kids grilled cheese with French fries and the BBQ chicken sandwich with French fries. The grilled cheese was barely grilled and the French Fries for both of my kids’ dishes were over cooked but soggy at the same time. The pros are their pancakes and drinks. I remember their drinks always being good. Our waiter was also very attentive.

I have never dined but food looks really good! I find the staff to always be so friendly and the first thing I recognize is a smile on their face! You can't go wrong whether you are looking to catch up with a friend or head on over later at night for good tunes and a nice vibe (weekends).

This is a cute cozy nice lounge to come eat, mingle or relax and wash off your day. Jason, was my waiter nice smile professional EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! KUDOS to the Manager, Christabel for leading quality staff my newest favorite place to come. Lady K

We love West on Centre!!! It was our favorite restaurant when my husband and I lived in Roslindale, and now we host a lot of university dinners there in the beautiful downstairs room/bar. Elle and her husband are amazing owners and they have been so welcoming. We have at least four events a year there. The downstairs room is perfect. And the food is fantastic!!!! We love it!! Highly highly recommend.

We had a baby shower here and everything was done perfectly! The space was beautiful and great for about 40 people. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with through the planning process. The food was great and they were very chill about us decorating and making the place our own for the event. Also reasonably priced and did not try to upcharge for every little thing. Recommend for any small event!
