A cosy and friendly country pub serving very tasty comfort food. Gets busy with the locals around rush hour, which is always a good sign. Strongly recommended. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chips, Brownie

This out of the way pub has become my go to for a Sunday Roast when I need to escape city life. Nothing is ever too much for the staff they make you feel as if you 're a local whether it 's your first or hundredth visit. The food is everything you 'd expect from a quality country pub, great produce great flavours. The beer is always kept well there 's always a few local ales on offer. First time ever visit here. Great welcome and good banter with I believe the landlady. Drinks served quickly. Food order taken and served. The food itself was excellent. My vege roast was delicious but could have done with some vege gravy as it was rather dry. Mine as well as the others would have benefitted from being hotter. It suggested they had been sat for 5 or 10 minutes before being served. Not enough to complain but took the edge off somewhat. A good meal overall. Our only downside was the number of dogs present. It certainly was dog friendly but detracted from the experience for us. Periodic barking and yapping combined with owners feeding the dogs off their plates and the staff bringing meat out to feed one wasn 't good. Overall a lovely pub, nice staff, great food in taste and serving size which are recommended. But for us the preponderance of dogs and their owners means we would be hesitant to return.
