Bidra med feedbackZero Stars but had to pick one to post. Easily the worst experience at a restaurant in DM in fifteen years. Tried for days to get reservations, all phone calls and emails went unanswered, and no way online to reserve. Decided to go anyways because we wanted to try somewhere new. Went on a Wednesday night for a birthday dinner at 5:45pm, zero people there during their happy hour. Asked for a scotch, they had zero to offer me. My wife ordered a martini from the menu, they didn 't have the ingredients (vodka) to make it. The bartender just laughed each time, he said they were sort of low on lots of items. After telling him the issues with even getting communication from the place, he shrugged. We walked out and decided to go to Proof downtown, had a wonderful three hour dinner, one of the best in a long time. I will never visit this restaurant or any run by this ownership group again. We will stick to places like Proof, Centro, ROCA, Flemings, ETC.
What the heck happened to Prime? I 've walked out of a handful of restaurants after reviewing the menu. Unfortunately, Prime has made the list. My partner and I went there for a special birthday dinner. I dreamed of enjoying a prime, delicious steak. When I got there, I was greeted with a menu that was either the lunch menu, or the old Blue Tomato menu with two steaks added. Land and Sea now pretty much encompasses several pizzas, a handful of pastas, sandwiches and two steaks: a ribeye and a sirloin, both priced over $40. If you 're looking for a special, quiet dinner, Prime is no longer the place. You want a pizza and a hamburger in a modern steakhouse setting? This place is for you.
Husband had prix fixe special, everything was fantastic. I had prairie burger and fries, very good but fries could've been crispier. For a nice restaurant, I expect bread brought to table. Other that that, service was attentive without being annoying and live music was good and not too loud. $15 corkage. We will be back soon!
The carbonara is to die for. I dream about the cream of cauliflower soup and the BLT on a brioche bun is just drool-worthy. Awesome lunch spot!
Very low key, dim, almost a romatical feel to the restaurant. Great happy hour special, good food, everyone should come out!
