El Coco Loco - West Chicago

This is my first time leaving a review for a restaurant my experience here was AWFUL! I ordered a veggie taco salad asked multiple times to make sure. This was also my first time at this restaurant. I am used to orders being messed up when it comes to vegetarian times. I called them on the phone to let them know that my order was incorrect there was chicken in it. Over the phone, the woman was telling me she put veggie in it should also be on the receipt (the receipt only said taco salad). I came in to exchange it repeated what I said on the phone. The older gentleman says, “are you sure?” I’m sorry what? He proceeds to question it a few times! I’ve never had that happen to me before! Tell me why I would drive 10 minutes back to exchange it or lie about it? Then he comes back out with utensils digs through it to show me I’m wrong. If I am, I’ll be the first to acknowledge it! I told him I ate something it makes NO SENSE for me to drive back if there was nothing wrong in it. I told him he was being extremely rude how I’ve never been made to feel like this. The way he was also talking about how he wants to make sure this doesn’t happen again I agreed with him while also telling him how inconsiderate he was being by assuming I wasn’t telling the truth. I told him he should have started with that part vs. the first thing he said by saying “are you sure…” I couldn’t even get a word in! I’m sorry, but in all these years I’ve never been questioned about meat being in food treated like this! I’m perfectly fine with having food remade if there is meat in it know that mistakes happen.

Was a bad bad experience high prices for bad quality, don’t even give salsa for the food like normal Mexican restaurants, and false advertisement, their smoothies is just flavored water and ice very disappointing

I used to really like this place. They still do have good food but the Mexican restaurant next door has better food. So with that being said you should improve your service. The last two times I stopped in for $1.50 tacos on a Thursday. One time I ordered limes on the side and they don't even tell you that it cost an extra dollar. First off I didn't need eight limes. I just wanted one wedge and if you would have told me it was a dollar I would have skipped it. Unneeded although I enjoy it. What's the point of buying cheap tacos if you're paying a dollar for limes? And then today I ordered two more tacos without the limes cuz I didn't want to pay the extra dollar cuz that's not a deal and then I go in and tell him I have Apple pay and he says there's a minimum of $5. Well you should have told me that over the phone and I could have came prepared and then when I stated that he got an attitude. Also all of a sudden the place smells like a sewer and I'm talking about the old guy with the glasses both times. I don't think I will bring my business here anymore. It's been 10 years since I lived in the area and it was one of my favorites in West Chicago but not anymore dollar tacos next door on Wednesdays, three times more flavor than Coco loco tacos. Sad to say I probably won't be going back.

Very good, freshly prepared food here. Very good wait staff. Can't go wrong if you choose to dine here!

The customer service is terrible the way they talk to people on the phone is unprofessional!
