Bidra med feedbackRUDEST human being and WORST business transaction I have ever encountered. I recently moved back to the area after spending the last 7 years out of state, so I knew little about this operation other than what I was able to glean online no website . I called them back in October to pre order a fresh 15 lb turkey for Thanksgiving I left a voicemail . A sweet lady returned my call and left her own voicemail, identifying herself as Sandy Asack. She said she was calling to confirm that I wanted a FRESH bird and the size I was looking to order. I returned her call immediately and confirmed I wanted a fresh 15 lb turkey. I also asked if they had gravy I am frying the turkey to which she said I can put you down for a couple quarts but just ask when you arrive . I told her I would pick everything up the day before Thanksgiving. So far so good. My 6 and 7 year olds have never been to a turkey farm and were excited to accompany me on the trip they 've been talking about it for the past 2 days . When we arrived, I provided my name and said I am here to pick up a pre ordered turkey . I was told there was no record of my order as they searched for my name. They asked whether I may have ordered the turkey from somewhere else nope. I dug up the voicemail from Sandy to show them that I had, in fact, placed the order. When I mentioned I had spoken with Sandy, a woman appeared from the back of the place apologizing for the mix up but said the order was never received. She asked what I had ordered and I told her 15 lb fresh turkey. I was told they could give me a cooked turkey can 't remember the size or a fresh 25 lb ! turkey the only fresh turkey they had left . She seemed apologetic. I didn 't know this place offered cooked turkeys but, regardless, I had ZERO interest in a cooked bird I have 6 gallons of peanut oil ready to go! So, I reluctantly agreed to take the 25 lb fresh turkey, nervous that I wouldn 't be able to find one in a grocery store on Thanksgiving Eve, and fully expecting them to make it right by charging me for the 15 lb bird I had ordered. When they rang it up and asked me to pay $106, I said I 'm sorry, but are you really going to charge me for a 25 lb bird when I ordered a 15 lb turkey? After all, using basic math, a 15 lb bird would have cost $63. And then comes the crazy part...a man working there slaps his hand down on the turkey and yells yes, YELLS at me Are you playing games here?!? First you ask for a cooked turkey, then we offer you a 25 lb turkey...you said you wanted it and now you 're playing games?!? Do you want the turkey or not?! This a$$hole literally scared my boys with his ridiculous reaction. I responded: excuse me sir, I NEVER asked for a cooked bird and I pre ordered a 15 lb turkey.... at which point he cut me off: I heard you say a 'cooked bird ' blatant lie I didn 't even know they had cooked turkeys and wouldn 't have taken one if it were free when you walked in. Do you want the turkey or not?!? I remind you, this guy is literally screaming at me with deep rooted anger in his eyes. I was stunned. WTF is happening. I wanted to walk out on the spot and spare my young children from this person but, unfortunately, I needed a turkey. So, regrettably, I paid for a 25 lb bird and walked out. To the sh#thead working there you are lucky my kids were with me. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to teach them how NOT to speak to human beings and to impart on them a very simple lesson in business treat people with respect and do the right thing. I 'd have been a patron for life had you given me the turkey for the price I ordered. Instead, I asked my 6 year old 6 YEAR OLD! if we should go back to this place next year to get our turkey. No daddy, that man was mean . Happy Thanksgiving. Pray for this very angry man!
It saddens me to say, this post is inaccurate right now. The company will still take orders for thanksgiving turkeys, but as of right now, the stand is closed. Hopefully it reopens one day and we can all eat the best Turkey pockets ever made again. But for now, it is closed.
Serta find this place is a little tricky it is actually the farm now as they no longer have their ice cream stand now that being said they still make the most amazing turkey sandwich I have driven 45 minutes numerous times during the week to actually get one of the sandwiches
The turkey pocket! What a hell of a sandwich.Go liberal with the gravy, this place is a must visit.
This is a sad thing! Assacks is out of business! The new ice cream place is good, but I'll miss those turkey pockets, they were unforgettable! To this day! I was just saying it to my husband the other day how I miss their food! The turkey salad was delicious too! Sad they are gone!
