Watch House Cafe - West Bay

Service and eating were both excellent. we would definitely recommend this place.

What a Fab experience. great eating and sitting in a beach bar in December was great. well heated and no design despite storm outside. great waitress will be back.

This was our first visit, as we usually eat at the hive. the house has little of the charm of the hive they cannot see the sea for a start. they had from vanilla ice cream, chocolate breweries and sticky toffeee pudding, that was most dessert menu, but no one had thought to inform the personal. the children were noisy and even the dogs were badly annoyed. the fish and chips were as good as usual, but we can have it at the hive.

Great place for lunch, very dog-friendly, the staff was also welcoming and friendly.

We are regulars at two sister restaurants of this place but this was the first time I've eaten here and it was less impressive than I was expecting. The main issue on a cold December day was that it was very cold in the restaurant and despite several tables asking for the heating to be adjusted nothing happened, with staff being told that it was set at a temp and would come on if it got that cold. Well it must have been set at about zero because it was very cold. As a result, most customers kept their coats on which makes it a less than comfortable experience. Aside from that the food was fine, a good fish and chips but a rather odd roast pork bap which was stuffed into a large baguette as they had apparently run out of baps. Since I had heard lots of very positive feedback I'll assume it was a bad day and perhaps its better viewed as a summer venue, certainly recommend taking your coat if you go on a cold day.
